Evergreen is ever-green and your room will most likely look out on a lot of plant life which is a nice way to spend
your time in labor! The rooms are a little smallish but there was room enough for a birth ball to be used next the
bed (lowered) with mom facing bed and dad sitting on it, she could lean into his lap so that he could rub her back
and comfort her and I squatted behind her to put pressure on her lower back. They have really nice common
areas for laboring down the hallway from the rooms--you'll be "in public" but it is at the back of the labor and
delivery area so not many people go there. I was really impressed as this is one of the only hospitals I have
worked at where mom had a true choice of where she wanted to deliver and wound up delivering squatting next to
the bed on the floor. The staff was capable and diligent about asking what mom needed and getting it for her. If
you're on the eastside and want to deliver in a hospital on the eastside from my experience I would recommend
Evergreen over Overlake hands down.
